Therapeutic Riding
High Ridge Equestrian Center in Alderson, WV provides therapeutic riding and equine related activities in our community to strengthen families and individuals. We place a special emphasis on children and youth, and maintain a special focus on individuals with disabilities.
Therapeutic Riding has been used with success since the 1950s to improve the lives of people with cognitive, physical and emotional disabilities. Experience with horses in a safe, controlled setting improves a person's flexibility, balance and muscle strength. Riders can also gain confidence, independence, learn patience, and improve their self esteem.
